Helicopter Ride + What’s been happening in November
November 25, 2009 – 5:06 pmI’m back in the Faroe Islands and just came to Tórshavn with a helicopter from the Island where I live when I’m here…the ferry broke down last night. Pretty much - everybody’s stuck on the south island except those of us lucky enough to get a seat on the helicopter:)We have to make an extra photo shoot for the album cover here in Tórshavn…so now I’m here at last.A month ago I played with my band at the live tv-show Nyhetsmorgon TV4 in sweden. It’s an early show - at 6AM you have to look like your fully awake and sing like you’ve warmed up all day
The crew at TV4 was awesome, they made the whole band feel comfortable.I was interviewed by Tilde de Paula. She’s a brilliant journalist and a wonderful person, hopefully we’ll see her again. We also had a concert at Kulturhuset in Stockholm on October 23rd.It was great to play together with my band again, we hadn’t played together for quite a while then, and it’s always fun to catch up with them.I made a short trip to Paris, where I stayed with some good friends of mine. I fell in love with Paris this summer, so it was awesome being back. I also made a co-write with a french artist and songwriter named Julien Ribot. We wrote two new songs together.I really want you to check out his latest video, it’s animated and he did the drawings himself. It took him about three months of hard work.:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=a0wBuGY249YBack in Stockholm we’ve been working on the album cover which is almost ready.Last week I was in a town in Sweden called Skövde, where we recorded a new video for my next single - Weekend. It was a great day together with new people, where I got to be a bartender, gardner, taxi-driver, barista and street musician - all in one day
There was a wonderful girl playing in the video and we had some great fun. Unfortunately I heard that she’s already married…:)On Saturday I played 4 songs on a live radio show here in the Faroe Islands.Jeez it’s good to be back home on these rocky islands. My brother has a studio and I brought some gear along, so I’m fully equipped for recording any song that appears on the sky. it’s actually nice operating from here for a change, even though there’s a little too much drama on the weather cast and what concerns transportation from island to island ;)All the best,Brandur
